It all began 40 years ago in Richmond, Vancouver with the first store. Today, IKEA Canada operates 12 stores with two more anticipated to open. Halifax in late 2017 and Quebec City in summer 2018.
To celebrate 40 years of iconic design, an exhibit at the Design Exchange in downtown Toronto will be open to the public for free from October 21-30. Canada's Design Museum, IKEA Then & Now will showcase a journey through the decades to see how IKEA has helped to shape life at home in Canada over the past 40 years.
Always inspiring is their PS and Limited Edition Collections that are created by world renowned designers. These collections are an opportunity for Canadians to see up close what's trending in the world of interior design. While the PS Collections incorporate into the range, The Limited Edition Collections in a way, are treated like a 'pop up shop' in the IKEA store for a 3 month period. Below, are just a few of the PS and Limited Edition Collections they have released in the past years.
